Education

kidsChrist Church offers a Church School program for children in grades Pre-K through 6 from September to May. Classes meet from 9:45 to 10:30 a.m. While in class, the children explore their faith in age appropriate ways. Children rejoin their families in the Sanctuary in time to receive Communion.

Our staffed nursery serves children from birth to age four. It is open from 9:30 a.m. to 11:30 a.m. each Sunday while Church School is in session, and from 8:30 a.m. to 10:30 during summer services. Our goal is to provide our youngest parishioners with a safe, nurturing and warm environment in which to play while their parents enjoy our 10:00 a.m. worship services.

While we encourage everyone to enroll their children in Church School and to take advantage of the nursery, we are a family-friendly church. Children are welcome in worship for all or portions of the service. A supply of books, activity sheets and crayons are kept at the back of the church to help keep them busy while they are in church.

Special Events

In addition to the regular Church School program, Christ Church celebrates a number of holidays and special events with our youth. These include the annual Christmas Pageant, Easter Egg Hunt, Parish Picnic, Mardi Gras Sunday, and the ice cream party to mark the end of the Church School year. It’s fun to be a Christ Church kid!

Acolytes

acolytesYoung people ages 10 and older can serve at the altar by becoming an acolyte. Acolytes participate in all Sunday Services and special liturgies. Individuals will have the chance to serve approximately once a month. Meetings and training are scheduled as needed. For more information, contact the church office.
